Project Development

from automated systems to logistics centers and compact storage systems

Large-Scale Intralogistics Projects

We design and realize overall concepts.

As project developers, we provide comprehensive services. We coordinate preparatory construction measures, plan systems or coordinate timely putting into operation. We create interfaces between different warehouse storage systems and software along the flow of goods. And we network our solutions optimally with those of other providers. We are proud of our proven cooperation with partners in our field.

Only the best of mechanical engineering, automation, logistics, IT and steel construction for you.

Optimum Planning of Automation

Tailor-made project planning is essential for the success of an intralogistics project.

For every inquiry, we draw up a detailed plan of the desired material and information flows and determine how the desired automation of the logistics chain can function optimally. Be it with individual components such as conveyor technology to create connections, or with complete palletizers or automated warehouse storage systems.

Our systems are flexible and can be used for a wide range of applications.
Combined with our consulting expertise, we will lead your project to success.

Fully Automated Storage Technology

Different types of warehouse are required for optimum intralogistics processes.

The goal is fast and safe storage and retrieval of goods. We combine Automated Pallet Warehouses, small-parts warehouses, conveyor technology, palletizers and filling systems to create integrated intralogistics solutions.

Our specialty: automation in the pallet storage system. The Compact Storage System offers simultaneous storage and retrieval movements of pallets or pallet cages on several levels. Internal relocation for additional route planning or warehouse optimization is possible at any time. Our pallet warehouse is compatible with other warehouse technologies and is ideally suited as the core of automated central warehouses.

We will show you how to fully automate your warehouse.

Process Optimization in Production

Many production and logistics processes can be optimized through automation.

But this is preceded by process analysis. We record the current status and every process, no matter how small. This is how we put together the internal logistics chain. Which tasks do your staff perform manually? Which processes are semi-automated? And which are fully automated? Which conveyor systems and other plant technology are used? What interfaces are there?

Once we have recorded this, we develop optimization proposals for the logistics processes. With the help of process modeling software, we can run through and evaluate different scenarios together.

We are then happy to implement the identified optimization measures for you.

Data Analysis: Networking Machines and Systems

The basis of a fully automated internal logistics chain is data.

In order to network individual machines, systems and processes within production, we answer key questions: When do filling systems need new material? What is the ideal delivery route? We can automate all of this for you with technical components and material flow control system software, thereby significantly accelerating the flow of goods. A data analysis provides information on how a product can be manufactured more efficiently or how systems can be maintained preventively.

We collect data on the production process or the condition of a system, collate it and evaluate it.

Improved Intralogistics with Tugger Trains

Tugger trains are a means of transportation for transporting materials within your company.

They consist of several trailers with transported goods and a towing vehicle. What role do they play in intralogistics? They reliably provide the material for the production facilities using just one transport system.

Coordinated with each other, they create a complete tugger train system that keeps your intralogistics flowing. Based on the current situation in your company, we develop proposals for individual tugger trains or a tugger train system, for example with pallet conveyor technology.

This is how we accelerate your material flow.

Cooperation with Industry Partners

We work with partners who complement our system solutions in a meaningful way.

These companies are experts in their industry segment and support us with technical components, software solutions or special systems and machines. On request, we also work with service providers recommended by our clients.

Both have already led to effective overall solutions and complete customer satisfaction.

Examples of Successful Projects

We have been working in partnership with KBU Logistik AG for over five years - for the particularly powerful KBU-LVS software. This warehouse management software has also been used for the successful SMB Compact Storage System since 2016.

The new SMB layer palletizer SHARK, also known as "SHARK XL", is optionally extended by the Multipack software from Multiscience. This program provides the operator with an easy-to-understand program for creating completely new palletizing instructions.

SMB is an official partner of the Interroll Rolling-On program and has achieved the status of "Approved Partner" by complying with all the requirements associated with this product category.

Among other things, we cooperate successfully in the implementation of order picking systems.

As part of a special design, the revised SMB pallet transport system with two gripper magazines was supplemented by a tilting pallet exchanger from NORTEC Automation GmbH in Kiel, a problem solver for repalletizing. So successful that SMB has now also taken over the complete service for NORTEC Automation GmbH.

b+b is a reliable partner for sophisticated labeling solutions. Various complex labelling solutions, including two-colour thermal transfer printing for a wide range of container types, have already been successfully implemented.
