What Are Chain Conveyors Used For?
Chain conveyors are ideal for transporting pallets both horizontally and vertically. Combined with roller conveyors, which handle longitudinal movement, chain conveyors take care of lateral movement. The main advantages are the ability to move extremely heavy weights and for operation at high-speeds. Powered by motors ranging from 0.37 kW to 1.5 kW, our two- and three-strand chain systems are designed to match the weight and size of the loaded pallets. Chain conveyors are also frequently used as load-handling devices, often in combination with automated guided vehicles (AGVs).
Technical Specifications
Chain conveyors are designed to handle different types of pallets and come in various widths, lengths, weight capacities and configurations. Options include straight conveyor paths, diverting and merging sections as well as transfer units. Material options include:
- Modular design
- Available with transfer and turn stations
- Suitable for use in wet and cold storage environments
- Modular design
- Available with transfer and turn stations
Both versions are low-maintenance and feature a central chain tensioning system. Standard configurations use a duplex chain powered by motors from 0.37 kW to 1.5 kW. Like all our pallet and transfer conveyor systems, our chain conveyors comply with the latest safety regulations and accident prevention guidelines (German UVV Standard), ensuring secure operation at all critical junctures along the conveyor line.
