2021

SMB International expands management team

On September 1, 2021, SMB International GmbH will have a dual leadership: The long-standing Managing Director Dipl.-Ing. and businessman Andreas Heckel will now manage the fortunes of the system and plant manufacturer together with Dr. Arne Dethlefs.

2019

SMB product innovation "Shark" in first use

Integration of a "Shark" palletizer into the pre-zone of the compact storage system of a large German dairy company.

2018

Innovative "Shark" palletizer

Development and production of the SMB layer palletizer "Shark". Optionally expandable, it enables product-friendly palletizing.

2017

Double innovation for the compact storage system

SMB is developing the compact storage system not only into a half-pallet truck shuttle, but also into a double-decker truck shuttle.

SMB Service GmbH consolidates SMB's full-service concept

With the founding of SMB Service GmbH, SMB is further expanding its range of maintenance and repair services for complex industrial systems such as filling systems, compact storage systems and ship loaders and offers a round-the-clock emergency service.

2016

SMB enters into cooperation with KBU-Logistik

The SMB compact storage systems will be equipped with the warehouse management system from KBU-Logistik GmbH. SMB thus relies on high-performance software with a modular structure.

2015

Expansion of the compact storage system

Modification of the pallet transport technology as part of the SMB compact warehouse.

2014

SMB becomes a certified KUKA Robotics system partner

SMB and KUKA Robotics are working together to develop innovative loading systems with fully automated gripper arm robots, thus further expanding SMB's product range in operational logistics.

SMB production becomes DIN-certified

SMB receives DIN ISO 9001:2008 certification, guaranteeing the highest safety standards in the manufacture and use of its products.

2007

Milestones in warehouse technology

SMB further develops the proven shuttle technology into a compact storage system. SMB installed a compact storage system at WBV in Oelde, which provides the Westphalian company with 5,500 storage locations.

2006

SMB Logistics GmbH is founded - SMB focuses on expertise

With SMB Logistics GmbH, the SMB Group is bundling its know-how in the field of storage and transport systems and is thus focusing on greater specialization in the future.

2003

Expansion of the product range

Innovations are implemented in the areas of filling systems, palletizers and ship loaders.

SMB realizes compact storage systems for the first time, further expanding its logistics offering

The first SMB compact storage systems go into production and further consolidate SMB's market position in the storage systems sector.

Innovative forklift shuttle systems expand the logistics range

SMB is optimizing its range of warehouse technology and goods handling products by developing and manufacturing innovative forklift shuttle systems.

2001

SMB International GmbH is founded

With the new SMB International GmbH, the company positions itself even more strongly on the global market. Andreas Heckel takes on the role of Managing Director of the new company.

SMB expands its range in the field of conveyor technology

The company continues to develop its systems for transport tasks in operational logistics and is increasingly establishing itself on the conveyor technology market.

SMB becomes a specialist in paper storage

For the first time, storage systems specially tailored to the storage of paper are developed.

Filling systems added to the product portfolio

SMB expands its product repertoire and develops its first filling systems.

Entry into the field of conveyor technology
